Why are children's eye tests important
Just like adults children rely heavily on their vision to learn, explore and interact with the world around them. Regular eye tests can detect any vision problems or eye conditions that may affect their academic performance, social interactions, and overall quality of life. Additionally, many eye conditions can be more effectively treated when detected early, making early intervention key.
When should a child have an eye test?
Children should have their comprehensive eye exam between the ages of 6 months and 1 year. Subsequent eye tests should be scheduled at the age of 3 years, before starting school, and then every one or two years, or as recommended by an eye care professional. If there are any concerns about your child's vision or if they exhibit signs of vision problems, an eye test should be scheduled promptly.
